Shopping...

Yesterday, I went shopping with my mom. We left the house at about 5:00 or so, and we didn't get back until 10:30 or so, so I didn't get to bed until roughly 11:00 or later. Needless to say, I am really tired. I almost fell asleep during a lecture in aquatic science AND while I was reading a book in economics.

The first thing that my mom and I did was go and order a boutineer. I really don't care if thats spelled wrong. My hands don't want to type today anyway. We went to one flower shop, but before we pulled into the parking lot they closed. So, we went to the other florist in town, and got there 30 minutes before closing. It ended up being the place that my date had ordered the corsage from, so they looked up his order and made sure that the color was right, and we got them to make the two items match.

The second thing that we did was go to a place called Sam Moon. Its almost like an outlet for jewelry and purses and such. I got my purse for prom. Its a really tiny silver one with sparkles all over it. I already have jewelry for prom, so I didn't have to worry about that. I did manage to get a wig for my Snow White costume though. It isn't a typical snow white hairdo, but a black wig with a bob-style hair. I bought a red bow to wear with it also, but they didn't sell just single bows, so I ended up buying a pack with like ten bows in it. I now feel obligated to wear a bow at least once a week. we looked for shoes there too (they had a shop next door with shoes) but we didn't find anything the right size that would match my dress. My mom doesn't exactly believe that my bobs match the dress perfectly. Its a floor length dress, so it doesn't matter that much.

We went to party city next. We managed to get the last snow white costume they had. The only thing was that its really short, so we bought some fabric at walmart that we are going to use to make a longer skirt. I was rather suprised that they were still selling costumes at this time of the year.

My mother and I then ate at Casa Ole in the mall before heading to walmart. There were some stops in between there, but nothing important. Most of the stores were closing up.

I am about to fall asleep while typing. Blech.

Happiness...

For some reason, today has just been a great day so far. I did great on my lines test in drama and my fish name test in aquatic science. I found out that my group member who left the class in sociology is nothing to worry about, and I should just rely on myself and the other two members. I got to sit and chat with my boyfriend and some other friends for quite a while. I have a quiz in spanish class, but I'm not really worried about it. Then, after school I get to go shopping for costume pieces for the two plays I am in. I just feel happy.

I think I want to make a music video for the song "Heart of War" by Forever the Fierce. I really like it and it is a really intense song. I don't know if they will let me make their music video for them, but I can at least make my own version, and I can help them with theirs if they want it. I keep trying to brainstorm and plan it, but I really need to know the true meaning behind the song before I can finish doing so. I plan to ask Nick today which band member wrote the song and what the lyrics are supposed to mean exactly.

I am really looking foreward to working with other people to make videos. I should be able to do this more this summer and once I start college. I really want to get a new camera too. My grandparents promised me that my graduation gift would either be money, or a new camera - it was my choice. I'm still a little indecisive. If I tell them money, I can have whatever camera I want and have a little bit of time to shop around. All I know right now is that it WILL be DSLR. I keep looking at cameras and $400 is beginning to look cheaper and cheaper. I already have most of the stands that I would need for anything, except one that straps to your torso, but that is something that may be an investment later on down the road.

I keep wanting to make a video blog while somewhere different. Like, at the store or something. And I almost always have my camera with me, but I never think of these things until after the time has passed. I still haven't really used my car camera stand. Maybe today when I go to the store I can use it. We're going to go to Burke's Outlet, which is kind of like a thrift shop, so I could use the song "Thrift Shop" by Mackelmore. The clean version or a cover version of course. Whatcha know about wearin' a wolf on ya noggin? What ya know about wearin' a fur fox skin? haha. Now you probably have that stuck in your head if you know the song...

I also had coffee this morning, so I really feel like talking and blogging and stuff.

I am not doing as good today in the stock market. I am ranked 28, while I was 24 yesterday. I'm not worried though. Pretty much everything is bullish.

I really really don't know what to say anymore. I want to talk about stuff but I've run out of ideas. If I had stayed off of the stock market, I would probably still have ideas and be typing like crazy. I just HAD to check my stocks. BLECH.

Is my blog getting too self centered? I noticed that most of the sentences start with "I", meaning that I talk about nothing but what I am doing. What else am I supposed to talk about though?

Spring needs to come faster, because I am ready to wear shorts and capri pants all the time. I miss wearing flip-flops and sandals constantly and not having to wear a jacket all the time. It keeps getting warm-ish then getting cold again, which is driving me crazy! I like the spring and summer, and I want them to come faster! Winter is soooooo two months ago.

If I could have been anywhere doing anything this week, I would have been in California with Family Force 5, Isaac Dietz, and Meekakitty, shooting the music video for "Chainsaw". I really wish they would have done it in Texas, because then I could have found a way to go or something. FF5, Meekakitty, and Tub-o are people I want to work with someday, and I keep thinking that I might get the chance. So far, the only possible way that I will meet them is staying after and waiting in line when FF5 comes to Kemah for Boomin' By The Bay. Last year they came, but I didn't get to wait in line for autographs because I went with a church group and we had to leave immediately. I did win an HD radio last year at Boomin' By The Bay though. It still isn't installed in my car, even though they gave me a "free installation" voucher. I just haven't had the time to go to Car Toys and get it installed. I actually had a radio before I had my car. Life is crazy like that.

I think that when I get some money and buy a camera and stuff, I'll buy an old school gameboy. Like, a Gameboy advance. I had one of those when I was little, but we traded it in for a ds. Then we got a dsi, and now we cannot play gba games. I think you can get gba's for like 30 or so dollars on amazon. I also want some of the games like tak and the power of juju or whatever. I miss them. I miss the game Luigi's Mansion also, but I'm think that might have just been on the gamecube. I also keep thinking about I want an adipose toy from Doctor Who, but thats a different story.

Early Christmas Present!

So, my uncle gave me some money on thanksgiving, and told me that I could buy whatever I want, and that would be my Christmas present from him. Well, this weekend, I went shopping with my mother and ended up spending that money. The cool part is what I got.

My favorite thing that I bought was the materials to start screen-printing my own t-shirts. I got an actual screen printing screen, along with a squeegee/scraper thing. Then, I got all of the different filler and drawing inks along with some paint, and the cleaning solultion for cleaning the screen. I got a small sketchbook also, so I can sketch out my shirt ideas before I actually make them.

I think the first thing that I will screen print is a shirt with my new youtube logo on it. I haven't officially released it on the internet, but it is basically an image form of my username. I think I will make a couple, that way I can give one or two away or sell them. I now know why screen printed shirts are so expensive, however. In charging $20 dollars each, I would only be making about $8 or so profit. Thats not a lot. Once I get going, though, I can take orders and do specialty shirts.

A while back, my spanish 3 and 4 class discussed ordering screen-printed tshirts. We haven't done it yet to my knowledge. If I can get a design drawn out, and everyone to bring about ten dollars, I can buy a shirt for each person and make them. At Walmart, colored shirts are about three or four dollars each, plus I have to pay for the paints and the effort put into them. I might be able to get the people in my class to get together and make them with me. That way, I won't be making ten or fifteen shirts on my own. We could do an assembly line type thing. It would work best if the design was only one color, though. I don't want to have to line up the screen again to put more paint on the shirt. I'll need to experiment with my own designs and figure out how it all works first.

This could be such a great money saving and money making tool. I just have to get good at it. It doesn't seem that complicated. I will probably need to get more tshirts to screen print on, so I might do that with any money I get for Christmas. But think about it. Lets say I make shirts. All of them with different things on them. They cost $5 for each shirt and $5 for the paints. I charge a little for the time I put into it and the use of my equipment. I easily make $5 to $10 dollars profit. Of course, much of this will go to pay for maintenence of the equipment. Sometimes you need new screens or more of them. More solution to clean them with or more drawing and filling inks. New paintbrushes. Plus, I will need to be saving up money for college. I can't just go out and spend it all willy-nilly. Is that how you spell that?

Anyway, I got some clothes this weekend also. I got this bright red jacket and a frilly white tank to wear when I take senior pictures, AKA tomorrow. I got a blue infinity scarf too. I got all of this from a store called Maurices. Its a clothing store for women, but the sizes range from Juniors size zero to a womens extra extra large. I like it because both my mom and I can shop there for clothes and shoes and accessories. I almost got my mom to buy me some boots too, but there weren't any cute ones in my size.

Two random items that I purchased this weekend are a unicorn backpack and a book called "The Action Bible". I got the unicorn backpack from Michaels for ten dollars. It literally looks like a stuffed unicorn. I wanted to use it at school today, but I can't fit my headphones in it, so I'll probably use it like next week or something. The Action Bible is basically the comic book form of the bible. It takes all of the bible stories and puts them in chronological order with colorful illustrations and speech bubbles and boxes like a comic book. I think its pretty awesome.

Well, time to wrap things up. Its almost time to go to my next class.

Question of the day:
If you could have a t-shirt that said anything or had any image on it, what would be on it?

Elizabeth W.
