What a To-Do to do today

So, last night, I ended the night by writing a to-do list for today. I do this a lot because it makes me remember what I have to do and I don't have to worry about it when I'm trying to get to sleep. However, I was really hyper yesterday, which transferred into me writing almost everything I will do today on the list.

Mail the letters.

Upload the video.

Read the books.

Wash the dishes and clothes.

Wreck the journal.

Clean the area.

Flip the bathroom.

Hang the shelf.

So, after I finish this post, I will go about doing the 7 tasks that I haven't finished yet.

By the way, I started a new journal and a new blog to go along with it. I know that I should probably update this blog more often, but its difficult to type from my phone, which means that I have to bring up my laptop to blog and it just takes a long time. Sometimes I don't even have things to blog about.

Anyway, this new blog is one that I will be updating from my phone, which means that I can update it everyday, multiple times a day if needed. The purpose of the blog is this: The other day, I bought a copy of "Wreck This Journal". It is a journal meant to inspire more nonconventional creativity. It has instructions on every page with things that pretty much tear up the journal in a fun and creative way. I want to keep track of my progress and share it with others via a blog. So, here is the link to the blog. I will still be updating this blog periodically, but not as often as I did in the school year. I hope to get back into that routine once I start college, but I have no clue how similar or dissimilar it will be from the other schedule.

In other news, my mom and I are in the process of flipping/rennovating our bathroom. I will porbably make a post soon with pictures and deets about how we did it.

Its a musical day in the neighborhood...

Today has been very... musical. I started the day with cleaning, but not just any cleaning... INTENSE CLEANING.

Yeah, my mom has been on this kick for the last couple weeks to clean the WHOLE HOUSE in a very intense way that includes organizing everything into boxes and cleaning every visible surface. She went to the store a bunch of different times this week and bought containers galore. A shoe organizer. Boxes for cereal. Boxes for chips. Boxes for bread. Boxes for whatever we think would go in. Toy bins. And we cleaned all kinds of things like the fridge and the bathroom.

So, yes, along with the cleaning came the music. I have this habit of listening to music when I clean because it makes it more enjoyable. Music can make most anything more enjoyable, even washing dishes like I was doing this morning. Washing dishes at our house takes forever because there are dishes from a family of five along with cooking dishes in a REALLY SMALL SINK. They have to be washed by hand because we don't have a dishwasher. Very unpleasant, especially when my brother manages not to help me by drying the dishes in the dish drainer.

At about 10:52 (before the dish washing, actually) I finished writing my second letter to my friend, Ellen, and one of the last thank you cards from graduation. I put on clothes and threw up my hair, then ran down to the mailbox to make sure that they got picked up today. The mail usually runs at our house at around 1:00 or so, but I wanted to make sure that this got done. I have been waiting for my friend to find out her address for about two weeks now (she is in college this summer) so that I could start sending letters, and she posted it on facebook this morning.

I played my ukulele quite a bit. I find myself doing that when I am bored or need to relax. I keep looking around on the internet and learning how to play songs that I like. One of the songs that I really like right now is "Fireflies" by RON POPE. Its really good but also really sad.

This evening, my dad told me that I needed to find a song to sing for a special at church tomorrow for father's day since the service was going to be a little bit different. So, I have T-minus 12 hours to fully learn "Gold" by BRITT NICOLE by heart and be ready to sing it tomorrow morning. Oh, the joys of someone else's procrastination.

I also sat down and edited a video book review this evening and uploaded it to youtube. Just go to my channel and find the last video I uploaded. youtube.com/user/lizardbreathwalker

Oh, and don't be SUPER surprised. I died my hair like I had promised. That marks another one down on the summer to-do list.

Bandness!

So, a while back I mentioned (or at least I think I did) the band "The States Seem Smaller" which has recently changed names and members to become "Forever the Fierce". They have some pretty awesome music and they are pretty cool people (I went to school with all of them but one). This summer, they have quite a few shows lined up, so feel free to go out and see them. They have merch and their music is on itunes.

They had an interview with a magazine thing, and here is a link to it: http://www.popvulturemag.com/2013/06/forever-fierce.html

Since I know them personally, I think it would be really cool if they would let me help them with their first music video. I have a camera that I am willing to use toward their cause, not to mention I am currently trying to plan a music video to one of their songs anyway (Heart of War is the single of theirs that they released a while back, and I have quite a few ideas!).

In the mean time, be praying for my sanity in trying to come up with something cool but possible and also trying to make a test video for them to see. Maybe I can actually get somewhere in life.

Elizabeth W.

One of those opinions...

Occasionally, I find a topic that sparks a small bit of my interest and I have to make a post about it. One thing that some people get to make them look tougher or cooler or just to fulfill a lifelong wish is a tattoo. Just like my newly dyed hair, it is supposed to signify their individuality and possibly a major event in life. The people who get tattoos like them in the way that I like my new red hair.

However, tattoos aren't always the best choice when you are trying to get at job or make a good first impression. They also tend to fade and wrinkle and look strange as you age. That picture of Betty Boop on your arm may start to look more like Zach Galifinakis by the time you reach the age of 50. And many employers frown upon so-called professional people having tattoos. I am one of the people who will never put myself through the pain of getting a tattoo. However, if some people have made that mistake already, they can still undo their mistake.

The process of laser tattoo removal has become more and more popular. Personally, I see this as a fantastic idea. When you break up with Susie, you can't just remove her name on your arm as easily as I can dye my hair. However, if you are willing to put out the money and time it takes, modern technology will allow you to.

If you are one of the unlucky souls stuck with a tattoo that you don't want anymore, I am going to help you out. There is a business located near where I live called "New Look Laser Tattoo Removal". They will be more than glad to help you out. If you do go there, tell them I sent you. To get you started, here is a website that you can visit: http://www.newlookhouston.com/
